What is an iWave Air Purifier?

What is an iWave?

This is the question of the hour! Simply put, an iWave is an air purifier that is an add-on to your existing HVAC system. This device is usually installed directly into your HVAC systems, directly between the air filter and evaporator coil. Once installed, the iWave is activated when your HVAC system’s blower turns on. If you’re asking, “why” we can say the biggest benefit of an iWave is what it takes out of the air. Most indoor air has foreign contaminants in it. These contaminates can include almost anything, from dust and dander to viruses, bacteria, and mold. Recently, the iWave was put to the test against the Coronavirus (COVID-19). A chamber was filled COVID-19 pathogens and the iWave was tasked with purifying the air. After 10 minutes in the iWave chamber, 84.2% of the virus was inactivated. After 15 minutes, that percentage jumped to 99.4%. The iWave filters all these out of your system so you’re only breathing fresh, healthy air.

How Does it Work?

The iWave uses ion technology to remove harmful contaminates from your air. This works because the device uses a high voltage to ionize—or electrically charge—molecules in the air. The iWave distributes negative ions into the air, those negative ions in turn run into contaminate particles and give them a charge. This charge forces the pollution particles to clump together. Once the particles are clumped together, they are too heavy to be airborne and essentially fall out of the air, stopping people from inhaling it. The negative ions used by the iWave are the same ions that occur in nature, just at a higher concentration. Sunlight, ocean waves, waterfalls, and lightning can cause negative ions in nature, the iWave generates negative ions through the high voltage mentioned above.

• Scented Candles – Paraffin scented candles can disburse toxic fumes into your home. To stay on the safe side, we recommend soy candles.
• Certain Cleaning and Beauty Products – Take a look at the ingredients in your cleaning and beauty products. Many can contain harmful chemicals that are not great for your lungs. If you want a list of what’s safer to use, the EPA has a “safer choice” label that marks products with lower levels of VOC’s and potentially harmful chemicals.

And, if you truly want to change the air quality in your home, one of the best things you can do is regularly change your air filter. Before it’s distributed though your home, all air passes through this filter. The air filter acts as the first line of defense from indoor air contaminates and other harmful particles.
